“Graaggh!” The dragon yelled as the sword broke the iron clad scales the protected its leg. It quickly countered at its attacker using its claws to swipe at it.

The attack missed its target, and the attacker quickly took another slash at its leg, causing it to bleed. However, to his amazement, the leg started to heal as soon as it was hit, which caused him to think of another plan. He kept striking at the legs, trying to at least weaken it. When he cut the back leg, the dragon shot a burst of fire from its maw. He dodged it, rolling under the dragon, attempting to hit it in its stomach.

He quickly cast a spell to keep the dragon’s feet from moving, but only for a short while. He tried to slash at the underbelly, but to no avail. With the lack of room to move, he had no way to be able to cut the iron-strong scales. He knew that he couldn’t beat the dragon, so he decided that there was only one option left. All the while, the dragon was trying to flap its wings to get its feet moving.

The man noticed something as he was trying to attack the dragon from underneath. The dragon was a female. But this didn’t stop him from what he did next. He sat down and crossed his legs, and cut his arm with the sword, drawing blood. He rubbed his sword in it, and he knew that what he was about to do wasn’t for the faint of heart. He took the sword and held it in front of his face, and thrust directly up, into the beast’s heart.

Thunder rumbled as he thrust the sword in, even though there was not even a cloud in the sky. Soon, the dragon started to get pulled into the sword. The man knew that this would take a great deal of control. No matter how much it hurt, he could not let go of the sword, lest he would die. He kept thinking of his wife, keeping that thought in his head so that he could return to her.

The dragon, starting at its heart, started to vaporize. As it did, all that was made from the dragon was getting pulled into the sword, getting channeled into the man. He held out through the pain of a dragon being pulled into him, and when it was over, he simply announced, “I will get to see my wife again…” as he fell onto the grass, unconscious, the dragon roaring in exasperation of being forced into a human.

Chapter One: Dragon Spawn

2 YEARS LATER

“Oh my,” Silvia muttered, barely even able to get the words out.

“What is love, did your water finally break?” Her husband muttered, being optimistic. Silvia was overdue 3 weeks, and they were starting to worry. Even the doctor was worried. He said that not once had he seen a belly this big. She was twice as large as the normal pregnant woman.

They had dismissed it, but now they weren’t sure. Whenever Silvia nodded her head yes, it was to Rey’s relief.

“Thank goodness. I’ll call the doctor. Stay right there. I’ll grab your bag.” He started off to call the doctor as she started hobbling towards the car. Silvia climbed into the backseat as the full force of her labor hit her.

“Ree-e-ey!” She stuttered, surprised that it had come this quickly.

He heard her moan of pain and told the doctor, “I don’t think that she’ll be able to make it to you… she just went into labor.” He said, obviously stunned.

“Here is what I want you to do, but first, do you have speaker phone?”

Rey gave a faint yes, detached from the conversation as he watched his puffing wife. “Alright, you need to…”

As the baby came out, Silvia muttered in her last breath, “Take care of-of Naomi…”

She had obviously not seen the baby as it came out, but it was obvious it wasn’t human. The thing that came out of her was already the size of a small child, and already had hair, down to its shoulders. It was purple, and with the blood stains that covered it, gave it an odd coloring that almost seemed eerie.

But probably the most prominent features of it were its horns, tail, and wings. And they weren’t ordinary; they reminded him of a time that he had long tried to forget. However, he fooled himself if he thought that he could forget the serpentine eyes, of which this thing also had. Yes, Rey knew exactly what this was. It was dragon spawn.

Chapter 2: Life’s beginnings

As you could have already figured out, my name is Naomi. My life story is, umm, peculiar… I am one of the few that humans call dragon spawn. I can do many things, but I will let you figure them out by yourself.

The thing that is vexing me though, is where to start. I could start at the beginning, like all other average stories, but then again, this isn’t the average story. Ah, well, you won’t get the middle or the end if we don’t start at the beginning though, will you? As like another ordinary story, we’ll start at the beginning. But you must remember that this ISN’T another ordinary story…

Rey paced around his garage, still thinking of what to do with the baby. It too, was looking at him, watching his every move. Even though it was just born, it already had the body of a girl at the age of five. She was still a naked, bloody mess, just sitting in the car, waiting for him to make a decision that would change her life.

Rey looked at her, knowing that she was still a babe and couldn’t do much, but still had the who-knows-how-old dragon inside of her, and partly on the outside, so he knew that she did have somewhat of a mind. He told it, “You killed my wife, and I could easily kill you right now, but as a father, you are still my child, and my wife told me to take care of you, so…”

The little half-dragon perked her head up at this, confirming the thought that she could understand him, and was waiting to hear his verdict.

“So you can understand. In that thought, you are still partly of my creation, and I feel like it would be wrong of me to kill my own flesh and blood… well, my blood at least.”

Almost immediately, Naomi giggled, and quickly moved out of the car, already able to walk. She walked over to her father, and suddenly got a stern look on her face. “Thank you for sparing my life. I was enraged when you had absorbed me, but I learned to live with it. And I escaped one night, and formed this,” she moved her hands up and down her body, seemingly pleased.

Rey nodded his head at this, completely aware that she was hiding something. “Well, we better get that blood cleaned up. You may be a however old dragon,”

“2036 years,” she interjected.

“But you are still a newborn girl. So if you don’t mind, Naomi, I am still your superior." She raised her eyebrow at this, and looked at her new frail arms and legs. She frowned a bit, but then she ignored that fact. She walked to the bathroom as he drew up a bath.

As Naomi bathed, Rey paced in his living room, thinking to himself, “What have I done? I’m keeping the mind of a dragon that I basically killed in my daughter’s body! She’s probably going to kill me!” he paced and paced, fretting over his dead wife and the future struggles he’d have with Naomi.

He snapped out of it as he heard a loud crash in the bathroom. He walked over to the door and knocked, asking in a worried voice, “Naomi! Are you okay?”

When he heard no response, he walked in, to check on her. But what he saw left him as speechless as the one it was happening to. Naomi was standing looking at herself in the mirror, but mainly at the now nearly gone dragon parts that were dissolving into her human skin.

“What the—” he said, snapping her out of her trance, “What happened!”

“I-I do not know! I was trying to wash the scales and I wished that I didn’t have them, and they started to disappear!

Rey stared at the now seemingly normal girl and she stared back. “Naomi…” He whispered, “I think you can shapeshift…”
AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH! too many stories! lol. I'll just have to sort my brain out. tell me how you like it!

The chpt. are small, so i decided to put in the first two and the prologue into this.
